DEN INRE VÄGEN (The Inner Path) For several years I was talking about composing a piece of music with a beginning, development or a middle, and an end. I envisioned the songs having their given place, and a story that together with the songs would take off as a new entity. My plan was to collaborate with a lyricist and then write the music. But I never had a chance to realize that plan. The moment I sat down at the piano the songs started to flow. The music and the words came to me. I felt as if I was just receiving and then I wrote them down. It was a bewildering time. Sometimes I was afraid to go near the piano, because when I sat down, time ceased to exist and the hours just passed in what seemed moments. I ended up with plenty of material, and had no idea what story that would go with it. However, when I went through it all I found three individuals, three voices with different personalities, longings and weaknesses; Faith, Hope and Love. They are all on the road of live, but on different distances from the final goal. The longing to find God, to be near, to be true and faithful to your heart, about the difficulty to find as well as walk your inner road, about limitless love, yes, Den Inre Vägen (The Inner Road) is about all of that Malou Berg, hösten 1994
